What a Year

2016 and what a year it was. The drop in oil price had a massive impact on Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, with many losing their jobs, companies going out of business, even many event agencies announcing the cancelation of popular events. Gig at the Brig had its tough times too throughout the year but that didn’t stop us. The team were determined to brighten people’s spirits and what better way than with a great family event to introduce 2017. And it didn’t disappoint.

Hundreds of you flocked to Gig at the brig 2016 and we couldn’t be more thankful. You were the ones who made a good event great. Adding that special buzz to the night that made it all that more memorable. It may have been cold but that didn’t stop anyone

Of course none of this would have been possible without the organisers and volunteers who helped organise the whole thing. I’m sure you would agree they did an outstanding job to the lead up, on the night of the event and the tidying up afterwards. They ensured you were all safe, everything ran smoothly on the night and of course kept the alcohol flowing at the bar.

A big thank you to all the bands, Ellon Pipe Band, Uniform, Emerald Sunday, Gleadraich and headlining act Abbamania. A great set from all, had everyone singing and dancing with every song.

And lastly a huge thank you to all of the Gig at the Brig 2016 sponsors and partners; main sponsor JM Taylor, Radio Partner Original 106, Media Sponsor Azzurro-Blu, Aldae Anything, John Willox Kitchens, Alan Stuart Builders, Safetest Scotland, Studio 34, Deesidedly Tasty, Eat Van Drink, MO’s Catering, AJM First Aid, Granite City Events, Showsec, Police Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council, Stick Em Up Stickers and Park Security Fencing. The event wouldn’t have been possible without your help, much appreciated

We are still in talks about Gig at the Brig 2017 but as soon as we know, you’ll know. A very Happy New Year again to everyone, the team at Gig at the Brig wish you all the very best in 2017.
